The ECB's "Safety Guidance on the Wearing of Cricket Helmets by Young Players" had provided that wicketkeepers up to the age of 18 must wear a helmet when standing up to the stumps. Aero's KPR face protector is quite evidently not a helmet but in our view was ideally suited for addressing the safety concerns of the ECB. The ECB has agreed to amend its Safety Guidance to incorporate the use of safety tested face protectors. This has been formalised and has just been released on the ECB website. To the best of our knowledge, the Aero face protector is the only safety-tested wicket keeping face protector currently on the market. Aero wishes to publicly record its thanks to the ECB staff for the time and effort they have put in to addressing this issue. Aero is also very grateful for the efforts put in on this project by our UK Distributor, Sports Distributions SE Ltd. Click here to see the guidance.
