After a year of prodigious run making and excellent fielding, White Fern opener Maria Fahey has been nominated for the ICC women's player of the year.

The awards year runs from 9 August 2006 to 8 August 2007. During that time Maria played 17 matches for the White Ferns. She scored 484 runs at an average of over 28 and took seven catches.

The awards will be made late in August. Best of luck Maria.
