Why are the front and back leg protectors not the same on the P1 and P2?

The leading of front foot of the batsman is used in a different way than the back leg. Therefore the requirements for protection are not the same.

The reduction of size and shape of the back legguard has three positive outcomes with no compromises on protection:

  • reduction in weight
  • more room for quadriceps muscle movement
  • the removal of the flap on the back leg reduces the chance of your bat getting caught up during back defence and late cut shots.

OK it does look a bit strange but using is believing!
